Rooting a Tizen phone.

Tizen has currently been deployed in following smartphones by Samsung:
Samsung Z1, Samsung Z2, Samsung Z3.

Tizen itself is a great OS but as it's new. Lack of apps...

Fortunately OpenMobile has one solution with ACL (Any Compatibility Layer) .
ACL enables Tizen to run Android apps. But everything has to be present in Tizen Store.
Currently only few apps are present.

Why to root?

Rooting a mobile phone gives more control on it. E.g., It enables installation of apps from unknown sources in Tizen phone. Backup of WhatsApp etc.

This is not my work. I have tested it and it works for me on my Z3. Have been tried for Z1/Z2 also. I'm writing this blog to educate more people about rooting procedure and that there exists a method which enables a Tizen user to install more Android apps.

Procedure to root a Tizen phone:

1. Taking backup is always recommended!
2. Download rooted firmware from following link:
    b.  For Z2: http://www.mediafire.com/file/k6d5cuzgwm3h8m2/ROOTed_ROOTFSonly_API2_SMz200F_v1.zip
    c.  For Z3:  http://www.mediafire.com/file/sgdihea0yldmcaf/ROOTed_ROOTFSonly_BPD4_SMz300H_v1.zip

3. Unzip it to find a .tar file.
4. Use Odin flash to flash this firmware.
